An Invitation

We enjoy sharing our lifestyle with our family, friends, and others. So COME ON OUT and "let's get on with it". You only have an opportunity to live once. For those of you who do not choose to get away, feel free to travel vicariously via this blog. P.S.: Note that you can enlarge photos by clicking on them. You can click on the "Spot" link to see where we are (click on "satellite" tab to get a photo of the area) (takes a while to load). You can also use the weather links to find out what we are experiencing. You will find only one post per page --- access earlier posts via the archive. Enjoy.

Jonesport, Maine (Part 1)

Friday, August 25th, 2011

Last night, when we arrived at the entrance to the Mud Hole it was pitch dark and so foggy that we could barely see the bow of the boat.  So we chose to anchor outside.  When we woke this is what greeted us:

Once we had moved into the Mud Hole it was decided that a trek into Jonesport was to be done.
No Dave - wrong way - it isn't time to go back yet.

A lobster hatchery near the head of the Mud Hole:

Dave is doing well - I don't think he is ready to give up yet.

Crab apple tree - small but yummy looking:

Windvanes in a true lobstering port:

The bridge across Moosabec Reach, with a lobster pound in the foreground:

You do not want to be walking across this bridge when a tractor trailer rig passes another truck.
